On 24 June 2026, Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU) and Thompson Rivers University (TRU), Canada, held a meeting and signed a cooperation agreement to strengthen academic collaboration.

During the meeting, the two sides explored opportunities for cooperation in a range of areas. BNBU Associate Vice President (Global Engagement) Prof Huang Yu introduced the university’s distinctive development as the first liberal arts university jointly established by the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong. Ms Beihua Chadwick, Vice-President of TRU, presented its strengths and international education initiatives.
The discussion focused on potential collaboration in several programmes, with both institutions expressing their commitment to maintaining close communication and advancing future partnership opportunities.

Founded in 1970, Thompson Rivers University is a leading comprehensive public university in British Columbia, Canada, offering more than 140 on-campus programmes and over 60 online programmes.
