Drawing on decades of research in artificial intelligence, neuroscience, and consumer behaviour, Prof Moutinho discussed how technologies such as AI, wearable devices, biometrics, and blockchain are transforming sports—from athlete training and performance analysis to immersive spectator experiences. He also raised important questions about data ethics and the need to preserve the humanistic values of sport in an increasingly data-centric landscape.

The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where students engaged in lively discussions on topics including AI officiating, data privacy, and fairness in technology, reflecting strong interest in the evolving relationship between sports and innovation.
