BNBU postdoctoral fellows have achieved a milestone by securing three grants from the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation’s 19th Special Fund and 79th General Grant programmes, including the University’s first-ever Special Fund award.
The two fellows were Wang Qiming and He Rui. Wang received both the Special Fund and a General Grant, while He was awarded a General Grant. Wang's research focuses on adaptive finite element methods for stochastic systems, and optimal control problems related to semilinear stochastic parabolic equations, while He's work centres on operator learning theory for optimisation problems constrained by partial differential equations.

This achievement underscores the steady improvement in the quality of BNBU's postdoctoral training and its research capacity. Since establishing postdoctoral research stations in Mathematics and Statistics in October 2023, the University offers a comprehensive range of programmes from bachelor’s degrees to post-doctoral studies.

Currently, BNBU hosts 11 postdoctoral fellows, with one having completed their tenure. To date, it has cumulatively secured five General Grants and one Special Fund from the Foundation, a 45% approval rate among active fellows. Additionally, one fellow has been selected for a national talent recruitment programme, four have joined the Guangdong Provincial Overseas Postdoctoral Talent Support Programme, and BNBU postdoctoral researchers have published 10 papers in leading journals, including the Journal of Econometrics, the Journal of Differential Equations, and Computers & Mathematics with Applications.
