Professor Yang Shuanghua is an Associate Research Fellow of IAS, Member of European Academy of Sciences and Arts, Doctor of Science (DSc), Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) in the UK, Fellow of the Institute of Measurement and Control (InstMC) in the UK, and Senior Member of IEEE in the US. He formerly served as the Head of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Reading, Head of the Department of Computer Science at Loughborough University, tenured Professor, Chair Professor and Executive Vice Dean of the Graduate School at Southern University of Science and Technology, among other positions. He was awarded the Honeywell Award by the Institute of Measurement and Control in 2010 for outstanding contributions to the field of measurement and control. In 2014, he was granted an honorary Doctor of Science (DSc) degree by Loughborough University, symbolising a 'Lifetime Achievement Award'. He was listed in the Top 2% Scientists Global Ranking (in the sub-field of Industrial Engineering and Automation) by Elsevier and Stanford University 2025.
Professor Yang's main research areas include Industrial Internet Safety and Security, Cyber Physical Systems, Data Science, Industrial Artificial Intelligence. He has published 4 English monographs and over 330 research papers, with more than 8400 Google citations and an H-Index of 41.
