Good morning teachers, families, friends, and fellow graduates,
I’m Kong Huijue from the Food Science and Technology Programme.
It’s my great honour to speak on behalf of the Class of 2026 from the Faculty of Science and Technology, First, I want to extend our deepest gratitude to our teachers, families, friends, and BNBU, it is your countless encouragement, support and companionship that made us to this moment.
As I stand here at graduation, I often wonder how to best describe the growth I have experienced at BNBU. Perhaps BNBU doesn’t give us the answers directly, but it shapes us into people capable of finding our own.
I believe many of us, felt both hopeful and uncertain about how to shape our paths when we first entered the university. We were used to seeking standard answers, to measuring effort by grades. But BNBU taught us that crucial questions rarely have a single solution.
We have learned new mindset, self-expression, and how to engage with the world through our lectures, experiments, projects, and practices. BNBU has always encouraged us and provided us abundant platforms to explore new possibilities. Some found passion in scientific research, others found responsibility in social practice, and many redefined themselves through cross-cultural exchange. These experiences have shown us that the true meaning of university education is not to duplicate us into the same kind of person, but to help us find our own way.
These years were not without challenges. We have all experienced anxiety, uncertainty, and moments of self-doubt after failure. In my own research journey, many experiments did not turn out as expected. Time and again, I returned to the familiar routine of weighing samples, running tests, waiting for results, analyzing data, and starting over from the very beginning. There were countless setbacks along the way, but every failed attempt became another precious lesson that pushed me forward. It is these moments of frustration and persistence drove us from uncertainty to conviction, and become a source of our strength to face the unknown.
Today, we are about to leave campus. However, graduation doesn’t signify we have grasped all the answers about our future. Rather, it means that we already have the ability to keep exploring, thinking, and moving forward with confidence whatever future holds. We may forget the details of a certain lecture many years later, but we will never forget that BNBU taught us how to find the unique answer in our own life. Finally, may we carry our hopes and dreams to step into a broader world. And may there comes a day when we look back on the past, we will be proud of the people we once worked so hard to become.
Thank you!
