Dear senior leaders, professors, faculty members, fellow graduates, ladies and gentlemen,
Good afternoon! I am Jin Huizi, a Master’s graduate from the Film, TV & New Media Concentration. It is my great honour to speak on behalf of the Class of 2026.
Today marks a brand-new start of our life’s journey. If life were a spaceship, this would be the moment when we are all ready to be its captains.
Studying at BNBU has been an unforgettable experience for me. After 10 years of working in media, I chose to return to campus. In those 10 years, I served as a journalist, a TV host, a producer and a director, and witnessed the amazing transformation of the media industry.
Facing the AI era, I decided to break my old boundaries and rebuild my knowledge system. And BNBU has been such a fortunate and perfect choice for me.
At this special moment, I cannot help recalling BNBU’s motto:
In knowledge and in deeds, unto the whole person.
The motto teaches us to connect personal growth with social responsibility. During my days as a BNBU student, these words became more than just a motto. They gradually became part of my everyday life. And I’m sure, the same goes for every student sitting here today.
In the decades to come, the world will no doubt undergo enormous and unpredictable changes. We have lived through a global pandemic, international conflicts, and an AI-driven new way of life. To us, change is never unfamiliar. We know change happens not only around us, but also within us.
I believe graduation is not the end of learning, but a new direction. From today on, we will do something new--that is, use what we have learned here to create real value for others and society.
Recently, I read a book called Finite and Infinite Games by James Carse. One idea stayed with me: finite games are played to win. Infinite games are played to keep the game going. Finite games have boundaries. Infinite games open endless possibilities.
What matters is not which game we win, but whether we can keep opening new horizons. And I believe BNBU students are especially capable of doing this. As we leave here, we all become captains of the spaceship called “the future”.
Once again, congratulations to all members of the Class of 2026. Thank you all!
