Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU) held its Study Abroad Fair and International Culture Fair on 21 October 2026, bringing together international university representatives, exchange students and cultural showcases from nearly 20 countries, including the UK, US, Germany, France, Italy, Korea, Mexico, and Uzbekistan.
The International Culture Fair featured music, dance, food and hands-on activities celebrating diverse traditions, giving students an opportunity to explore different cultures and engage with peers from around the world.
At the opening ceremony, Prof Michael Sheng, BNBU’s Associate Vice President (Global Engagement), described the festival as a platform for connecting diverse traditions and ideas. He encouraged students to share their own cultures with pride and approach others with curiosity and respect, emphasising that intercultural competence is essential for becoming global citizens.

Held on the same day, the Study Abroad Fair offered students opportunities to learn about overseas exchange programmes, speak directly with university representatives and hear first-hand experiences from international exchange students and interns. Their insights helped students better understand study opportunities abroad and prepare for cross-cultural learning.
Together, the two events reflected BNBU’s commitment to international engagement, encouraging students to broaden their horizons, embrace cultural diversity and explore opportunities for learning beyond the classroom.
