On 9 September 2026, a day before Teachers’ Day, Beijing Normal–Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU) held a special ceremony to honour faculty and staff for their outstanding contributions to teaching, research and service. Colleagues were also recognised for their long-term dedication to the university.
“A university is ultimately built by its people. What makes BNBU special is not simply our campus, our programmes or our achievements. It is the community we create together--a community that values excellence, respects contribution, welcomes new ideas, and brings together people from different backgrounds and cultures,” said BNBU President Prof Chen Zhi at the ceremony.
This year, ten faculty and staff members received the President’s Award, while 96 colleagues were honoured with the Long Service Award. Faculty members who have made outstanding contributions to teaching innovation and curriculum development were also recognised.
The ceremony featured music, performances and festive activities. As the Mid-Autumn Festival approached, teachers and students came together to enjoy traditional activities, such as guessing riddles on lanterns, making osmanthus bookmarks and designing hand fans.
