Dr Kennedy Wong at BNBU shares insight on Hong Kong's new opportunities

Dr Kennedy Wong, Chairman of the Council and the Court of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), attended the high table dinner at Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU) as the keynote speaker, sharing forward-looking insights on the international landscape and Hong Kong’s development opportunities.

BNBU President Prof Chen Zhi said Dr Wong has long been deeply engaged in law, public affairs, and higher education, and has provided strong support to BNBU since its early planning stages. As HKBU celebrates its 70th anniversary this year, BNBU will continue to move forward with HKBU in the same spirit.

At the dinner, Dr Wong analysed shifts in the global political and economic landscape, explored trends in competition and cooperation under globalisation, and shared his views on China–US–Russia relations, China’s high-quality development and the evolving international order.

He highlighted the importance of a peaceful and stable environment, noting that China’s pursuit of high-quality development contributes to global economic growth. He also elaborated on the advantages of “One Country, Two Systems” and Hong Kong’s new opportunities under the 15th Five-Year Plan and Greater Bay Area development. Dr Wong encouraged students to embrace the changes brought by the age of AI and seize future opportunities.
