Synopsis
Panopto is a video hosting platform UIC provides for all students and faculty. Similar to a “campus YouTube”, Panopto provides a way to conveniently share video content related to course work and for students to interact with their instructors and peers in an online environment. Panopto is integrated with the iSpace learning management system for convenient use in course work including flipped classroom content, teaching and learning activities, and formative assessment tasks. This workshop will give a general overview of the Panopto platform, then focus on designing lecture capture content while implementing the quiz feature through a hands-on approach.
This workshop will utilize the flipped classroom approach introduced in the previous workshop. All attendees must pre-register and watch a short video prior to the workshop. The workshop will begin with an activity which assumes participants have seen the flipped content in the video.
Intended Learning Outcomes
After this workshop, participants will be able to:
identify useful features of Panopto including: lecture capture, screen capture, video hosting, the note-taking and discussion functions, quizzes, learning analytic statistics, and access rights;
design a thoughtful Powerpoint presentation for use in short;
create an in-line quiz using various question types for use on the Panopto platform;
access viewership stats for videos they have published on the Panopto server for learning analytics.
