At UIC, we have adopted the OBTL approach for the delivery of academic programmes for some years; all programs and course documents, teaching and learning activities as well as assessment tasks, including the CRA implementation, are all designed to comply with the OBTL principles. However, there are very few examples amongst academic courses / programmes available that can demonstrate how and to what extent the student learning of outcomes of these courses / programmes can be achieved. In this workshop we shall explore both quantitative and qualitative methods for evidence collection to close the loop for OBTL adoption in the academic curriculum.

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe how to plan a holistic approach into developing achievement of learning outcomes of all CILOs of an academic course.
  2. Explain how to collect qualitative evidence for the achievement of learning outcomes of an academic programme.
  3. Apply the data collected from quantitative and qualitative methods for the improvement of courses / programme design and delivey.

A light lunch will be served.
