Recognised globally! 15 BNBU scholars among world top 2% scientists

Published on 9 October 2025

The world's top 2% scientists list for 2025, compiled by Stanford University and Elsevier, has been published, with 15 BNBU scholars included. Among them, nine are listed in both the “Single recent year” and “Career Long” categories.

The list is based on standardised information on citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions and a composite indicator (c-score). Scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields according to the standard Science-Metrix classification.

The research of the selected BNBU scholars covers multiple fields, including numerical and computational mathematics, information systems, food science, logistics and transportation, artificial intelligence and image processing, statistics and probability, industrial engineering and automation, and networking and telecommunications. The career-long impact ranking includes six BNBU scholars among the top 400 internationally, with Prof Patrick Chau, ranked 32nd globally in the field of information systems. Four others were ranked among the top 200 in the single-recent-year impact ranking.
